The Adoption Process & Guide

  • The adoption process begins with the application to ensure we're matching the right dog with your home and lifestyle.  Please be certain all household members are aware of your interest and approve of the pet prior to submission.


  • OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We encourage out of state adoptions due to our pet overpopulation in Texas. Following the application, pictures and videos are exchanged of the pet as well as the potential adopter's residence to ensure a good fit and address any questions. The adoption fee is $250. This  includes the cost of out of state transport, a health certificate, and helps to offset costs for medical care which includes vaccinations, spaying/neutering. 


  • ADOPTIONS IN SAN ANTONIO & SURROUNDING AREAS: We're happy to provide additional pictures and videos and coordinate in person visit(s). The introduction will take place in a neutral location, a home visit is required prior to final approval. The local adoption fee is negotiable.
